As one of its main offerings, TTSPAMD hosts an annual Steelpan Music Festival and Awards event that features steelpan soloists and ensembles performing various genres of music. The event also recognizes pioneers and community members who have worked tirelessly to promote and advance the steelpan as a mainstream instrument.

🌏🛢️ WORLD STEELPAN DAY is the United Nations’ acknowledgment of the Steelpan’s cultural, artistic, and social impact as the only acoustic musical instrument created in the 20th century.
ABOUT TTSPAMD
mission & goals
The Trinidad and Tobago Steelpan Association of Maryland (TTSPAMD) was officially established in 2024 by steelpan enthusiasts to promote the development and advancement of the instrument at its highest standard.
PROVIDE EDUCATION
To expose and educate the wider community about the history and legacy of the steelpan, the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago.
CREATE ACCESS
To impact future generations of musicians and music lovers by providing access to high quality performances, workshops, and networking opportunities.
PROMOTE INDUSTRY
To serve as a resource that connects steelpan musicians, ensembles, tuners, and pan makers with other musicians, organizations, and event organizers in the area.
